Stress
If you are feeling stressed out, it's important to figure out why. Stress is actually really bad for your health. It can affect your general outlook on life, making it easier to feel depressed, and put stress on your relationships with friends and family. It's important to realize that you do have some control over the situation. There are many ways to cope and there are lots of people out there who care about you and who can help you take a load off.
- Do you have a hard time falling asleep?
- Do you wake up during the night and have a hard time falling back to sleep?
- Are you always in a bad mood?
- Are you jumpy and easily startled?
- Are you constantly thinking of the same thing over and over again? ("I can't stop thinking about it!!!")
- Do you feel alone?
- Are you feeling more emotional than usual?
Coping
When something is happening that you feel you have no control over... REGAIN YOUR OWN PERSONAL POWER!
- Your feelings and thoughts.
- Who you choose to trust with your personal thoughts.
- The way you treat others. You should never feel pressured to treat other people badly in order to gain acceptance from a few people. You have the power to treat others the way you'd want to be treated.
- Your life (even though it doesn't always feel like it!). Try to never forget that you are in the driver’s seat
The best way to deal with stress is to talk to a friend or adult that you trust.
