Follow these steps to start playing:
Complete the sign up process
Complete the sign up process by sending a text “SIGNUP USERNAME ” to 839833 (TEXTED). Once you have received your signup notification text, click here.
In order to make sure that playing this game is a safe experience, we have ensured that your cell phone number is not disclosed to those you challenge to RPS,

How to Play

Send a text to 839833 (TEXTED) that says:
“play random r” (R means you will be playing Rock)
or
“play random s” (S means you will be playing Scissors)
or
“play random p”. (
P means you will be playing
Paper)

Your challenger (Player 2) will be randomly selected from the group of players who have signed up to play the random games.
S/he will receive a text message from Short Code TEXTED letting them know that you have challenged them to a game of Rock, Paper, Scissors.
She/he will receive a message which says:
“USERNAME has challenged you to an RPS game. Reply with r, p or s.”
Your challenger will reply to the text with simply:
“r” or “p” or “s”

Once Player 2 sends their text, both players will get a text from Short Code TEXTED with a message like this: “Rock beats Scissors. You win!”
The number of games you have won, lost and tied will be stored by the Canadian Centre for Child Protection and will appear on your textED.ca profile page.
Players with the highest scores will be featured on the website.

“play <insert your friend’s username> p” (P means you will be playing Paper)

If the friend you challenge has signed up to play RPS, your friend will receive a text message from Short Code TEXTED letting them know that you have challenged them to a game of Rock, Paper, Scissors.
She/he will receive a message which says:
“USERNAME has challenged you to an RPS game. Reply with r, p or s.”
Your challenger will reply to the text with simply:
“r” or “p” or “s”
- If the friend you challenge has not yet signed up to play RPS, you will receive a text message telling you: “We’re sorry, that user hasn’t signed up for RPS.”

- Rock wins against Scissors (a rock can break scissors).
- Paper wins against Rock (paper can cover up a rock).
- Scissors wins against Paper (scissors can cut paper).
